NICD
Nickel-cadmium batteries (NiCd batteries), also known as nickle-cadmium cells or NiCad batteries, are primary batteries with a nominal voltage of 1.2 volts and were commonly used in portable devices such as digital cameras, cordless power tools, and flashlights. NiCd batteries are rechargeable and have a high energy density, but they are toxic and contain cadmium, which is a hazardous material. NiCd batteries are also susceptible to memory effects, which can reduce their capacity if they are not fully discharged before recharging. In recent years, NiCd batteries have been largely replaced by lithium-ion batteries, which are more energy efficient and do not contain toxic materials. However, NiCd batteries are still used in some applications, such as emergency lighting and backup power systems.
