NIMH

NIMH

Nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries are a type of rechargeable battery that is made of nickel hydroxide and hydrogen. They are a popular choice for use in portable electronics, such as cell phones, laptops, and cameras, because they offer a long lifespan and a high capacity. NiMH batteries are also relatively inexpensive, making them a good option for budget-minded consumers. However, they do have some drawbacks, such as a slow charging time and a tendency to lose their charge if they are not used regularly.

NiMH batteries work by using a chemical reaction between nickel hydroxide and hydrogen to produce electricity. The nickel hydroxide is the positive electrode, and the hydrogen is the negative electrode. When the battery is charged, the hydrogen atoms are absorbed into the nickel hydroxide, and when the battery is discharged, the hydrogen atoms are released. The chemical reaction that takes place in a NiMH battery is reversible, which means that the battery can be recharged multiple times. However, the battery's capacity will gradually decrease over time as the electrodes become less efficient.
